Q: What applicant number are you on?

Q: How do I get an application?

A: Applications are only available during a 10 day period every other year. See applications tab for more details.

Q: When would I attend classes if accepted into the program?

A: Classes are 1 to 2 nights a week from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. and run August until May.

Q: What is the starting wage?

A: Apprentices will start at 47% of Journeyman scale. Currently first year apprentices start at $21.89 per hour.

Q: Where would I be working?

Local 417's jurisdiction is the metro area of the Twin Cities.

Q: How do I sign up for Continuing Education?

A: Click on the Continuing Education Tab, enter the password. A link is available at the bottom of the page that brings you to sign up genius. Call the JATC office for the password.

Q: Can 669 members attend local 417 continuing education?

A: Yes with approval. Contact the JATC office for details.

Q: Do you accept donations?

A: Yes, we are a 501(c) 3 organization that will gladly accept donations. Just fill out the contact form and you will be contacted regarding the type of donation.

Q: Can I speak to the apprentices as a group?

A: Possibly, Fill out the contact form in the "contact us" tab, and you will be contacted to discuss your proposal.

Q: What will it cost to start in the Apprenticeship program?

A: There is a $500.00 initiation fee that will have to be paid to the union after acceptance, but prior to starting in the program. You will also be required to pay for an online course (approximately $85.00) prior to starting. If you pass the course, you will be reimbursed by the JATC.

Q: Is there tuition?

A: Yes, Tuition is currently $200.00 per semester, payable in August and December throughout the duration of the apprenticeship.
